THE GE VETERANS NETWORK
The General Electric Veterans Network (GEVN) is one of GE’s all volunteer affinity groups. Approximately 1 out of every 10 employees working for GE is a veteran. The GEVN was formed to improve GE Veterans Connections, Deployment Outreach, Recruiting, Career Development, Community Service and Veterans Health Initiatives. The GEVN partners with the local Dayton/Cincinnati community and surrounding areas to support veteran charities. Veteran Network members have volunteered alongside other GE affinity groups to help serve our local veterans and our community. As a nation-wide network, the GEVN works closely with our corporate leadership team and the US Chamber of Commerce to support of the national “Hero to Hire” program. General Electric has committed to hiring 5,000 veterans over the next 5 years in support of this program.
Where is my money going?
Funds raised at this tournament will go nationally to the Folds of Honor Foundation.
The Folds of Honor Foundation is rallying a nation to ensure no family is left behind in the fight to preserve American freedom. Through scholarships and other assistance, we give back to the spouses and children of soldiers killed or disabled in service to our country. We provide healing, hope and an opportunity for dreams to be realized...with the support of people like you. We feel this is our duty as citizens of the greatest country in the world.
The need is great, and, to paraphrase the words of Patrick Henry, their battle is ours. As Americans, we feel a collective duty to honor those who have sacrificed by serving the families they leave behind.
